[...] By popular demand (well, by request from Shel and Neville), ‘Professor’ Goetsch returns for the third week in a row with a report for FIR 270. Her topics for today are the phenomenon of ‘Transcraping,’ how to alienate the press, how not to alienate the press, and why the Sansa Connect™ and Yahoo! Music To Go don’t have podcasting support. The syndrome of the day is Egocastitis. Report from the Asylum 8 [7:17m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download [...]

[...] In her report for FIR 272 on Monday, September 3rd, ‘Professor’ Goetsch reveals that Lee Hopkins has been spotted hanging out at the CommsCafe with Allan Jenkins decrying the poor presentation skills of most professional communicators; gives her opinion on SnapKast and its suitability for podcasters; follows up on last week’s Transcraping post with an introduction to the Plagiarism Today blog and Copyright 2.0 podcast (not to mention Public Domain Torrents); laments the fact that the Rojas-Weiner-Calacanis MP3 player never got anywhere, even though Dave Weiner still hates syncing; and agrees that the Read/Write Web article asking whether podcasting will survive is misplaced. Sponsored by Podcast Stereosis. Standard Podcast [7:50m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download [...]

Hmm. Everything there now (it only goes back to June) bears the hallmarks of this double-translation routine. None of the other posts is mine. Some even have comments from real podcasters.

Perhaps both of us should go after this person. Though I don't know whether you have any claim to the blog name if you deleted your Blogger account.

Strange. I used to own the blog/podcast "The Podcast of My Discontent", and after I deleted it earlier this year, somebody/something took it over, and began posting material taken from other people's blogs. But in English.

That is interesting. i had noticed a phenomenon of translated plagiarism before but this is the first I've heard of it being combined with a scraper. Very interesting indeed, somewhat worrisome.

As far as protecting your rights go, I've found it to be pretty easy for the most part, but if you want my help I'll offer it freely. I know you say you don't think it's worth it most of the time, but there are situations that call for it.

Hopefully, no matter what you decide, this will be resolved soon.

Good luck!

Now, wouldn't it be a funny test to translate *this* post to German and back to English and see what comes out of that?! :-)
